It’s time for January, February, March.

The Warren Philharmonic, under the direction of conductor and musical director Bryan Eckenrode, will present — January, February, March — at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 11 Russell St., Warren.

“This performance will feature Mendelssohn’s ‘Symphony No. 4 in A Major’ also known as the ‘Italian Symphony,’” President Brenda Schnick said. “Other selections for this concert are ‘Chaconne in E Minor’ by Dietrich Buxtehude, ‘Selections from Les MisÈrables’ by Claude-Michel Schonberg and Herbert Kretzmer, ‘On the Steppes of Central Asia’ by Alexander Borodin — featuring Mateo Mendex on English Horn — ‘Huckleberry Finn Overture’ by Eric Delamarter and ‘The January February March’ by Don Gillis.”

The Delamarter piece is not a familiar one.

“There is very little information about this composer available and we were not able to locate any recordings of this piece,” Schnick said.

Eckenrode chose that work and the January February March. “We think the audience will really like these new additions to our program,” Schnick said.

The group has had extra time to work on portions of this performance. The philharmonic had to cancel its November concert due to severe weather.

“We were so disappointed that we had to cancel our Nov. 20 performance due to winter storm warnings,” Schnick said. “That said, we are very much looking forward to performing the Mendelssohn Italian Symphony that we had worked so diligently to prepare for the last concert.”

Tickets will be available at the door starting at 3:15 p.m. for $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and free for children 11 and under.

Those who are unable to attend in person may attend virtually. “The performance will be available live on YouTube,” Schnick said. “Please tune into our Warren Philharmonic YouTube channel to view the performance or click the link in our Warren Philharmonic of Warren PA Facebook page to access the performance.”

The next performance of the Philharmonic will be on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14. It will include music from Mama Mia, featuring solo soprano Lauren Hiller for the first half of the performance and Serendipity — a nine-woman a cappella ensemble — for the second half.
