The Partenopei received brutal news today as Napoli star midfielder Piotr Zielinski has been deemed unavailable ahead of the Azzurri’s significant fixture against Roma tomorrow evening.

TuttomercatoWeb reports that the Polish international underwent therapy throughout today’s training session for a low-grade injury to the medial gastrocnemius of the left leg, which occurred during yesterday’s training.

So far this season, Zielinski has amassed a total of three goals and two assists in 28 games-played in the Serie A. The absence of the Polish attacking midfielder will certainly put a dent in Napoli’s chances to seize all three points in order to keep up with the pace of Lazio and Atalanta in attaining European football.

Whilst it is expected that Franck Anguissa and Stanislav Lobotka will commence in the central area of the pitch, it remains to be seen who coach Francesco Calzona will rely on in order to complete the three-midfield in tomorrow’s crucial fixture.
