The 2023 BET Soul Train Awards in Los Angeles featured several stars from the R&B and soul genre wearing striking red carpet looks. Airing on Sunday, this year’s award show includes performances by SWV, BJ the Chicago Kid and Muni Long.
Tamar Braxton, Sereyah and Keke Palmer were among them, with Palmer in a black Versace minidress. Palmer, who hosted this year’s award show, accessorized her Little Black Dress from the Italian fashion label with pointed-toe heels and a bold new hairstyle: blond highlighted tresses.
Here, a glimpse at the other style moments.
Honored with the Spirit of Soul Award, Monáe arrived in a strapless Christopher John Rogers gown with mix-patterned patchwork details. Styled by Alexandra Mandelkorn, Monáe’s artistic gown was from the brand’s resort 2024 collection.
Jones went monochromatic in a Jean-Louis Sabaji leather gown with a gold crystal-adorned crop top. The songstress, who also took the stage at the award show, usually works with stylist on her looks.
Serayah brought sheer dressing to the red carpet in a sheer black Christian Cowan gown. The songstress’ edgy frock featured a lace chest area with a plunging neckline.
Braxton looked to Egyptian couture brand Temraza for her mermaid-style strapless gown, which included black paneling on her torso. Collaborating with stylist Ashley Sean Thomas on her outfit, the singer is currently on her “Love and War 10 Year Anniversary Tour.”
