La Repubblica reports, via FcInter1908, that the Nerazzurri are earmarking the situation of the star Canadian international as they seek to swoop David on a free transfer as his contract expires in the summer of 2025, as the player has expressed his desire to not renew with the Ligue 1 outfits, in order to replace former Bologna forward Marko Arnautovic.

However, the Beneamata are not the only club within the race as the Bianconeri are also eager to acquire the services of the 24-year-old for a low-ball fee. Director Cristiano Giuntoli is quite fond of David and is aiming to reach an agreement in principle with David and his representatives by February in order to reinforce the front-line in the upcoming season.

Since joining Lille from Belgian side Gent, the Canadian international snatched 72 goals in 148 appearances throughout his four-year stay thus far, playing a vital role in enabling Lille to clinch the Ligue 1 title in the 2020/21 season, catching the interest of various top tier clubs.
