Arsenal retained their five point lead at the top of the Premier League in dramatic fashion last weekend with a 97th minute winner against Bournemouth, completing a comeback from being 2-0 with less than half an hour remaining.
Mikel Arteta’s side have now won four league matches in a row, seemingly making a full recovery from their wobble last month where they picked up just one point from three matches and temporarily lost their position at the top of the table.
Second placed Manchester City face a tricky trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, so Arsenal will know the situation ahead of their game, whether they’ll be looking to reinstate their five point lead, or extend it further should City drop points.
Sunday will be Fulham’s second London derby of the week, having lost 3-2 to west London rivals Brentford on Monday night, suffering their first defeat in eight matches.
Despite the defeat, Marco Silva’s side have had a very impressive season so far in their first season back in the top flight following their promotion from the Championship last season.
The Cottagers head into the weekend in seventh place, just six points behind the top four and very much remain in the battle for an unlikely European place next season.
Arsenal are unbeaten in their last nine meetings with Fulham, winning seven of them, with the west London side not beating the Gunners since Bobby Zamora’s 92nd minute winner back in 2012.
