More people are working remotely than ever before. According to online recruiting platform Zippa, 26% of U.S. employees work remotely, and the numbers are expected to rise. With this level of flexibility, many are finding an opportunity to incorporate short and long-term travel into their work schedule.
Travel service Going (formerly Scott’s Cheap Flights) notes in their annual travel trends analysis suggests that work and play are going to go hand-in-hand in 2023: Per their survey, half (56%) of respondents with fully remote jobs plan to jet around in 2023 while working. Hotels and other lodging types are responding to the upward trend with offers on stay-and-play packages, with discounts for extended stays. Amenities such as desks and working spaces in rooms along with community business centers are making travel and work easier for guests. Most Marriott hotels feature a spacious desk with an ergonomic chair and a convenient outlet nearby.
